FILM
My films start with simple storytelling using camera techniques that my DPs aren’t strangers to, then I use the magic of post to create something more complex and disorienting. I believe we need to explore the uncomfortable parts of ourselves.
DESIGN
I have found that working in the art department this has actually been a strength, being able to create things that look worn and imperfect, because that is what life looks like!
Who Am I, Really?
I live a pretty non traditional life. My home country is Aruba, and I have roots in Panama and the Netherlands and have lived in New York City for the past eleven years. This blending of cultures forms the foundation for who I am.
That's how I see the world: close but distant, intimate but observing.
My work is about characters who can't help themselves, who push past the line because they have to see what's on the other side. I use camp and color to make it beautiful, even when it's uncomfortable.
When we work together, people leave feeling inspired. Not because of me, but because of what happens when the right people find each other in the right room.
